In times when digital drafting tools are used in the design process, it is always inspiring to refer back to way design masters of the past conceptualised structures and spaces. For the modernist architect, Alberto Sartoris (1901 - 1998), it was important to remove the context within which structures was experienced. Devoid of any context, no indication of shadows or people, to determine human scale. This, along with the distortion of perspective, lead to sketches which focus purely on the physical planes, colours and volumes created by simple lines.
