Fausto Melotti was a prominent voice of the Italian artistic panorama. After studying physics, mathematics and electrical engineering, Melotti applied at the Brera Academy of Arts in Milan. Through his work he explored the intersection between abstraction and figurative art. These ‘Weightless constructions’ created between 1960 - 1980 is a sculptural exploration investigating the juncture betwee the abstract and figurative.
